Wasatch Mountains Elopement
Wildflowers, hiking, and alpine lakes in Utah

Exploring Utah’s Mountains
Skye and Sean came all the way from Virginia to explore the mountains and deserts of Utah. We got up before the sun and hiked out to an alpine lake where the couple changed into their wedding attire under the stars. Skye surprised Sean by wearing her mother’s wedding dress. They both looked so beautiful and had a lot of fun exploring around the lake. We also took some dance breaks since dancing in the kitchen is a past time of the couple.
As the mountains began to glow, the two shared private vows before the alpine lake. It was heartfelt, tearful, and the emotion could be felt from afar. The way these two looked at one another was just beautiful. Skye changed into another dress to pay homage to her roots and bring in the tropical feel of their soon to be island wedding. We said goodbye the lake and began the hike back down, stopped among the wildflowers for a first dance, and then headed to the campground for their ceremony. Jenn officiated a lovely ceremony that left myself, the couple, and the camp host in tears. We all singed the marriage license, and then Skye and Sean had another dance party to celebrate!
Despite their big wedding in Hawaii having to be postponed, the couple was so stoked on getting to explore Salt Lake. They even went for a trail run after our adventure to explore even more! Plans don’t always work out the way you expect, but a little adventure can always bring things together. I’m grateful for couples like them who choose to adventure!
