Salt Flats Elopement
Destination elopement on the Bonneville Salt Flats

Love on the Salt Flats
Kinley and Jeff, their closest family, and the expanse of the Salt Flats. Kinley had always dreamed of seeing this place. She wanted something unique for her wedding day and Utah delivered on that experience.
This day was overfilling with love for each other and awe for the landscape. Kinley made her elopement dreams come true – a pop of color against the expanse of white salt. A backdrop that was simple yet beautiful without taking away from the landscape. And it looked so dreamy on film!
Family came all the way out to Utah to celebrate. There were so many kind words exchanged about the couple. Everyone shed tears during the ceremony and were so joyous to witness this union. It was everyone’s first time seeing this place which made the day extra special.
After the ceremony, the couple shared private vows before the arch. After wiping tears and embracing, we set off to venture around the flats. Their red truck looked pretty rad against the flats. We stared in awe at the mountains, took in the landscape, and talked about how this place came to be. It was once an ocean that stretched all the way to the Wasatch. There a trail called the Bonneville Shoreline that marks where it once touched. Now it has shrunk to the Great Salt Lake, leaving behind a later of hard packed salt. Underneath you can still find water.
The flats often flood November through April, so we chose May in hopes that they would be dry enough to drive on. Even when flooded this place is just as unique and beautiful.
