Joshua Tree Wedding

Two day climbing wedding in Joshua Tree

Wedding Celebration in Joshua Tree

Win + Tori got married in their favorite desert with their favorite people. For them, Joshua Tree holds a lot of fond memories of hiking, camping, and climbing. It’s been a place where they’ve grown together in both their relationship and in climbing trad. Now Joshua Tree includes the memories of their wedding day!

Their wedding was brought together by friends and family. They helped set up the ceremony and reception, brought baked goods, created floral art, made table decorations, and helped the couple get ready for their day. It was beautiful to watch the people that love them most come together to help them create such an intentional day.

With the moon showing overhead, these two were wed by Win’s mom in ceremony that felt true to them. A sage smudging brought cultural tradition to their ceremony. Their vows brought us all to tears. It was beautiful, simple, and ended with cheers and many embraces.

After bringing family together for portraits, we enjoyed home-made prickly pear drinks and margaritas. We ate tacos for dinner and danced under the stars. Celebrating went on late into the evening as any good desert party should.

Win and Tori are good friends of mine. It’s always an honor to photograph friends in love, but even more so to have watched their love grow and flourish. When we lived together as roommates, to the climbing and camping trips we went on, to staying in touch while living miles apart – I could always feel the love that these two have for one another.

Climbing in the National Park

The next day we rallied to the National Park for a day of climbing, resting, exploring, and camping. Wedding guests sent it on some routes (some for the very first time), scrambled up rocks to soak in the sun, went for hikes, and chilled in hammocks. It was a fun way to bring everyone together to enjoy the things that mean a lot to the couple we came to celebrate!

Win + Tori climbed Double Cross together – the first of many sends as a married couple!
