Adventurous Alaska Elopement
Halie and Andres have a love story full of adventure. It was only fitting that they spontaneously got married on a glacier in Alaska after taking a helicopter ride!
Halie had just returned from Antarctica, a journey that allowed her to check off being to all 7 continents, and was staying at a hostel in Argentina. Andres was working at that hostel and had to chase after Halie to make sure she had been checked in. There was instant connection, and the two began a new journey together. From being in Argentinean, to camping along the PNW coast, to moving to Alaska, these two (and their pup Toby!) have made so many memories together.
They had been planning on getting married, and when they found out the pilots over at Outbound Heli could officiate, they jumped at the opportunity to get married on a glacier. It was all of their first times in a helicopter and on the glacier ice. We had the best views to take it all in! I loved watching them vow their love to one another in such a wild landscape. They exchanged roses instead of rings, wore comfy clothes that matched the glacier, and brought along their favorite Alaska hats. It was a true to them adventure which made it that much more special!
We hiked around on the glacier to explore the blue pools and icy fins. We were so lucky to have had the most beautiful weather for such a memorable adventure. On the flight back we saw Dall Sheep, Moose, and swans. All around it was a really incredible experience and I’m so grateful I got to share it with them both.
They ended the day by celebrating at the Palmer Ale House with a local brew and some good music. Every good adventure deserves a good meal + drink afterwards!
Ps: Halie is the only person I’ve ever met who spells her name the same as me!
